Our Story: A Family's Love Affair with Marrakech and Berber Heritage.
What started as a whirlwind romance with Morocco over two decades ago has grown into the deepest love story of our lives—one shared with our four children, the vibrant chaos of Marrakech, and the timeless artistry of the Atlas Mountains.
We arrived as a young English couple, captivated by the red city's energy, its spice-scented souks, and the call to prayer echoing at dawn. We never left. Instead, we built a home here, learned Arabic and Tamazight through endless conversations over sweet mint tea, and raised our four children amid the medina's winding alleys and open-hearted people.
Our children grew up chasing pigeons in Jemaa el-Fnaa square, bargaining for treasures in the souks and celebrating Eid with neighbours who became good friends. Marrakech taught them resilience, curiosity, and the beauty of cultural fusion—speaking three languages before their teens, savoring tagine as comfort food, and calling both England and Morocco "home."
But the true heart of our journey lies in the Atlas Mountains, where our love for Berber rugs was born. Through years of friendships forged in remote villages, we've been welcomed into homes where extraordinary women artisans weave magic into wool. These are not just rugs—they're stories of protection, fertility, and mountain life, hand-knotted with symbols passed down through generations.
